Willie T’s Seafood Shack and BRB (be right burger) are both moving in to 9326 Georgia Avenue (joint restaurant), between Islands Tropical Ice Cream and Goldberg’s New York Bagels, in the location that was formerly home to Andy’s Restaurant (h/t @SilverSpringEats).
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the honorable Judge Jill Cummins sentenced defendant Jonathan David Robbins to 40 years in prison suspend all but 12 and 5 years supervised probation upon release.
A hearing to discuss restitution was scheduled for Feb. 18th, 2022.

It has been nearly two years (December 2019) since we learned that Frank Pepe’s would be opening its first Maryland pizzeria right here in MoCo– in Montgomery Mall.
After many delays, we learned this past summer that the restaurant was back on track to open, as they were given their beer and wine license in a hearing that took place at 10am on September 2nd.
The week will start off with its coldest day, as highs today will likely reach the mid 40s with light winds making it feel a bit cooler. Partly sunny skies are expected.
Temperatures will slowly climb as the week continues, as Tuesday is expected to hit the upper 40s with very little wind. Mostly sunny.
The Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Volunteer Fire Department has finalized and released Santa’s route through Gaithersburg and Washington Grove.
Santa’s route will take place over several days, starting on December 4th and going until December 19th. The date of each route is provided when you click on the route (each color is a different day).
It has been less than a year since White’s Ferry announced it would be ceasing operations immediately on December 28th, 2020. Since then, the ferry has been purchased and the dispute that caused it to close remains unresolved. Montgomery Planning has released the Pike District Streetscape Guidelines as a part of the Advancing the Pike District project. The recommendations in the document will be used to guide the transformation within the White Flint Special Taxing District by providing recommendations for the design of all public and private streets. The guidelines are based on an existing conditions analysis, stakeholder feedback and current best practices for creating safe and attractive streets with multimodal connectivity.
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the honorable Judge James Bonifant, defendant RebeccaThuc Hoang Vo, age 39, of Nashville, Tennessee, pleaded guilty to two counts gross negligent manslaughter by vehicle for the deaths of Pran and Pamela Sharma.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 4th, 2022 before the honorable Judge David Lease.
