Germantown

CM Chicken is coming to Germantown– taking over the space that was home to Johnny’s Kabob Restaurant (12933 Wisteria Drive) in Germantown Plaza.

Originally started in South Korea, CM Chicken specializes in Texas-Korean-style fried chicken. On the menu, expect to see items like red hot pepper chicken, garlic spicy chicken, curry chicken, fried chicken, bacon spinach chicken, lemon spring onion chicken and tikku soy sauce chicken gizzards, along with sides such as rice, coleslaw and fried calamari.


MoCo

Keith Lester has been in the special education field for nearly 2 decades– supporting students in various levels as a 1:1, assistant teacher, behavior specialist, and vocational coordinator.

He’s currently a teacher in the Model Asperger Program at the Ivymount School where he teaches social skills. In his spare time, he coach CYO basketball and privately teach social skills for Young & Well. He’s often faced with the challenge of not having an environment for his clients/students to practice learned strategies on a regular basis and more importantly, in real life settings.


Gaithersburg

Kara Hibachi & Sushi is coming to the Potomac Valley Shopping Center across from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg.

I stopped in last night and was told that they expect to open by the end of the month, but it looked like there was plenty of work left to be done.


Gaithersburg

Back in June we reported that CVS would be taking over the old Tommy Joe’s/Boulevard Tavern/Brasserie Beck/O’Donnell’s location in the Kentlands.

Gaithersburg Councilmember Neil Harris told us that CVS is moving forward with the plan. Currently City of Gaithersburg staff is reviewing the storm water plan and the final site plan is under review by the planning staff.


Rockville

Ding Tea is coming to Rockville at Ritchie Plaza next to Kiim Imm Thai restaurant (785 Rockville Pike).

Why is this different than any other bubble tea spot? The Facebook page shows golden, honey flavored boba (bubbles) that can only be found at Ding Tea, per the bubble tea shop. Signage is now up and they are expected to open in the coming months.


Gaithersburg

F45 Training, the Australian fitness franchise which recently brought on actor Mark Wahlberg as a minority owner, is coming to Rio. It’ll be located at 28 Grand Corner Avenue, near Target and Pier 1.

Every F45 studio consists of a small room filled with a few pieces of simple fitness equipment and a bookshelf to store your belongings during the workout.
