Most recently, a tweet from a local journalist sparked outrage in the Watkins Mill and Northwood high school communities.
The news reporter posted about a Northwood High School student who was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute on campus. But while reporting on this, the reporter also included other Montgomery County Schools and their “serious drug” incident statistics during the 2017-2018 school year.
Per the Maryland Government website:
“First Phase Will Be I-270. The Board approved Governor Hogan’s request to make I-270 improvements the first phase of the project. With a clearer consensus for making improvements on I-270, this will allow more time for local residents to convince leaders in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties of the need for traffic relief on I-495 and the American Legion Bridge before the state moves forward with the planned Phase Two and Phase Three of the project.”
While Lord & Taylor has made things difficult with their refusal to close its White Flint store, long after the mall has been demolished, it seems as if they’re ready to play ball when it comes to the redevelopment of the area.

Silver Diner (pictures 9-12) is looking at a mid-August opening. This will be the first Silver Diner with outdoor seating and they’ll have indoor atrium seating just outside of the movie theater. This Silver Diner will be somewhat of a “Silver Diner 2.0,” which means it’ll be a mix between a traditional Silver Diner and their new Silver concept.
The cafe is owned and operated by Tabitha D. Furbush-Clark, a 1989 B-CC graduate. Tabitha opened the first location in Laurel and wanted to come back home with the arrival of the two newest locations.
They offer coffee, tea, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, wraps, and a lot more.

Interment to follow at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. The family will be observing Shiva on Tuesday and Thursday at the home of Miriam Bobrow.
