On Saturday, at approximately 5:52 p.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in White Oak. 30-year-old Christian Ronaldo Guillen, of Silver Spring, was killed in the crash and now the community is rallying to support his family with burial costs and other expenses. As of Tuesday afternoon, just over $1,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe fundraiser.
The 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris concluded with a spectacular closing ceremony on Sunday evening. After 15 days, the United States secured 40 gold medals and a total of 126 medals across the various events. While California led the way for the U.S. with 50 medals, Maryland had seven athletes win ten total medals (per the Washington Post).
Shane Lee, who is a Montgomery County native from Burtonsville, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent this past spring after three years at Alabama and his senior year at USC. A 21-year-old Gaithersburg man is dead following a shooting in Montgomery Village. 20-year-old Oliver Alexis Perez Fierro of Montgomery Village was identified as a possible suspect and the alleged shooter. At approximately 12:15 p.m., Perez Fierro was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters. Police say a mugshot for the suspect is not available.
