The City of Gaithersburg’s Department of Public Works is replacing the playground at Lakelands Park. The playground equipment at Lakelands Park is 20 years old and has reached the end of its useful service life.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have responded to a crash on Veirs Mill Road/E. Jefferson St. and Rockville Pike. According to MCFRS Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, the collision involves three vehicles and there are “several injuries.” Some lanes are blocked.
Montgomery Parks will begin its annual deer population management operations in September 2024 and continue through March 2025 to address the overpopulation of deer in the county. During this time, hunters will cull deer in 59 parks through archery and firearms hunting programs, or park police sharpshooting operations. Signs alerting the public to deer population management programs are posted in advance throughout affected parks and in nearby communities.
