The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced the arrest of two teenagers in connection to two armed carjackings that occurred in February.
The Montgomery County Planning Board transmitted the recommended 2024-2028 Growth and Infrastructure Policy (GIP) to the Montgomery County Council for review on August 1, 2024. The Planning Board unanimously approved the policy’s recommended updates on July 18, 2024.

Buca di Beppo, the family-style Italian dining brand, today announced that it has voluntarily filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. Buca di Beppo closed its only Montgomery County location at 112 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg on Sunday, June 23. A replacement has not yet signed on.
Starbucks has opened its newest Montgomery County location in the redeveloped Westbard Square. The previous Starbucks at 5438 Westbard Avenue in the Westwood Shopping Center closed last December. The new store is located at 5310 Westbard Ave.
