Fox 5’s Zip Trip is returning to Montgomery County on Friday, July 18th from 6am until 11am. They’ll be broadcasting live from Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring. Earlier this year, Fox 5 made it out to Bethesda for a Zip Trip.

On July 15, 2025, a Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Baltimore man during a traffic stop on Route 340 after a K9 unit detected narcotics and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 385 grams of suspected cocaine.
Eater DC recently unveiled its list of “The Best Bakeries Around D.C.,” featuring standout destinations for “extra-crusty levain, flaky croissants, brioche doughnuts, baklava, cupcakes, French baguettes, and everything in between.” Among the bakeries recognized, Fresh Baguette and Boulangerie Christophe, which have locations in Maryland, were highlighted. However, only one bakery on the list originated in Maryland.
With exterior construction nearly complete at the Kensington Crossing shopping center, located at 10619 Connecticut Avenue (at Plyers Mill Road), the five businesses that have signed on are set to begin interior construction as they prepare to open in the coming months. Mezeh has received its permit to begin construction in one of the spaces.
A vehicle fire on Prince Philip Drive in Olney resulted in damage to multiple vehicles, but fortunately left no one injured. The incident was quickly brought under control by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).
D1 Seafood Buffet & Bar (19961 Century Boulevard) in Germantown closed permanently this past spring. The space was previously home to Sushi Legend Cajun Seafood and Bar until December 2023, and before that, The Greene Turtle until 2020. The building was listed as available for sale with a $3.5 million price tag, and now it’s going to auction.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred late last night in Germantown. Officers from the 5th District responded to a call at approximately 10:37 pm Wednesday night regarding a shooting in the 20600 block of Shadyside Way.
Von Miller has signed with the Washington Commanders, according to Tom Pelissero. “Eight-time Pro Bowl OLB Von Miller is signing with the #Commanders, sources tell The Insiders. The Dulles Airport Master Plan has received approval from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), setting the stage for significant upgrades, including the phasing out of the mobile lounge “people movers” and the addition of a fifth runway. However, the 20-year master plan requires final approval from the Federal Aviation Administration before implementation can commence.
