Chick-fil-A in Germantown had plans to temporarily close its doors for approximately two weeks for renovations starting December 9th at 3pm, but those plans were pushed back during a December 6th meeting. The store will now remain open until renovations take place in Mid/January/February 2024.

When the renovations do take place, we are told “this  beautification project will include removing our playground to make room for more dining space & expanding our interior drive thru operational space which will allow for better service to our guests!”


Education

Members of the Montgomery County Board of Education re-elected Karla Silvestre to serve for a second term as president on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. Lynne Harris was elected as vice president. Both officers will serve a one-year term. The election of officers occurs each year during the first business meeting of December. More below, per MCPS:

Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a vehicle fire in the area of Shady Grove Road and Corporate Boulevard, close to the I-270 ramp. According to, MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the vehicle fire involves an HVAC work vehicle. The fire has been extinguished and some lanes remain blocked as crews work to clear the vehicle.
