  2. safetySchool Safety Summit Brings Together Police and School Staff
    Held Monday, July 25, at Walter Johnson High School, the event brought principals, central administrators, local police and sheriff department representatives, and the Community Engagement Officer teams together for an in-person collaborative training on the updated Memorandum of Understanding with police partners, 911 training, a new non-emergency number and more.

    SchoolCash Online helps parents and guardians pay school-related fees—such as field trip costs—safely, quickly and easily. This new system puts school-related fees online so payments can be made using a credit card or e-check, increasing efficiency and security by making payments directly into schools’ bank accounts and eliminating the need for teachers to handle money. Cash and check payments directly to schools will remain an option.

  4. lunchApply Online Now for Free and Reduced Price Meals Benefits
    The application is now open for parents and guardians to complete and submit for assistance with school meals.   Families of students who may qualify for free or reduced-price meals can apply for this service. Eligibility is based on family size and gross income. Beginning this year, students in Maryland who qualify for reduced-price meals will not be charged for breakfast or lunch meals.

  5. fairFree Transportation Available for the MCPS Back-to-School Fair, Saturday, Aug. 27
    MCPS students and their families are invited to kick off the new school year at the Back-to-School Fair, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at Westfield Wheaton mall. Learn more about the event.
