Montgomery County Ends Contract with AdvaGenix
Rockville-based AdvaGenix, which has been providing coronavirus tests for Montgomery County, will no longer be working with the county after a new state order was passed.
As first reported by WTOP, MoCo officials have terminated their contract with AdvaGenix after Maryland state officials announced that the lab had been using deficient practices. This led to the suspension of testing at county-run testing sites on August 14th.
While the actual issue that led to the suspension of testing has not been released to the public, AdvaGenix has insisted that their tests are safe. MoCo residents can still get tested, as AdvaGenix only accounted for 8% of COVID-19 testing in the county.
