Office Depot to Close on November 15th, Amazon Taking Over

A couple weeks back we were told Office Depot in Gaithersburg would be closing permanently and that something Amazon-related would be taking over (based on a few Office Depot employees we spoke to).

Now we know that the official closing date is November 15th. Office Depot is currently offering up to 30% off of everything in the store.

On the Amazon side of things, earlier this week the Washington Business Journal reported that an “Amazon grocery store” would be moving in.

Amazon Fresh Pickup, a drive-in-type grocery store for Amazon Prime subscribers, is a likely possibility. It’s a delivery service that lets users shop online, reserve  times to pick up the groceries, and have them loaded into their cars at the store.
