MoCo Government

Montgomery County Government will open Monday, February 23, with optional unscheduled or liberal leave for non-essential employees, while residents are advised to check ahead for possible weather-related closures. Montgomery County Public Schools will be closed, recreation and senior programs will be limited or canceled, recycling and trash collection will proceed as scheduled, and the County’s 311 call center will operate regular hours. Today, February 23, marks the final day of operations at the current location of Full On Craft Eats & Drink at 4007 Norbeck Road in Rockville. The locally popular sandwich shop is preparing to relocate to 5566 Norbeck Road in the Rock Creek Village Center, the former home of The Creek Lodge Bar & Grill, which closed in November. (more…)

Update: The State of Maryland corrected its previous press release to reflect that liberal leave is in effect for Maryland State Government after previously stating it was closed.

Governor Wes Moore declared a State of Emergency Sunday afternoon as a powerful winter storm was forecast to impact Maryland from Sunday evening through Monday, February 23.


MCPS

MCPS announced a two-hour delayed opening for Monday and said the decision will be re-evaluated early Monday morning, as snow began falling across parts of Montgomery County Sunday evening. The district cited slick roads, uneven impacts across the county, and concerns about staff travel.
