The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has launched a “Ride with Pride” themed Ride On bus for Pride Month, featuring a colorful design and LGBTQ+ messaging to promote inclusion and awareness, with additional Pride-related displays and information available on all County buses throughout June. Crime

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force participated in a national initiative, “Operation Safe Online Summer,” resulting in 595 investigations, 41 arrests, and the rescue of 17 child victims. The task force urges the public, especially parents and seniors, to remain vigilant about online safety and continues to provide education, outreach, and investigative support to combat internet-based crimes and child exploitation. Montgomery County native Matthew “Diggy” Diggs, a 2008 graduate of Damascus High School, just experienced a milestone moment in his short career as a barber that started just under two years ago. Recently selected to serve as the in-house barber in BET’s prestigious hospitality suite for the BET Awards, Diggs’ journey has been one of seizing unexpected opportunities.

Beyond MoCo

As you may have been able to tell, one of our editors is on vacation at one of the most popular beach destinations for those in our area. After years of visits and savoring countless slices from different restaurants at every hour, we believe Trattoria Lombardi’s offers Ocean City’s best pizza– or at least, our favorite. The restaurant is located between 92nd and 93rd Streets (but known as Lombardi’s 94th St.) on Coastal Highway in Ocean City, Maryland, has been a staple for Italian cuisine and pizza since 1962.
