The Burtonsville Access Road project provides for the construction of approximately 1,400 linear feet of new roadway with two lanes and parking on the westbound side located in Burtonsville, Maryland.
MCPS is inviting the community to participate in the upcoming engagement sessions focused on the reopening of Charles W. Woodward High School, the opening of Crown High School, and the expansion of Damascus High School. These sessions will cover the initial options for each study and share how potential changes may affect families with middle and high school students.

Construction is nearly complete as Virginia’s first Buc-ee’s will open next month in Rockingham County, VA (Mount Crawford). It will be located at the exit 240 interchange on Interstate 81 near Harrisonburg– just over 125 miles and roughly two hours from most parts of Montgomery County. Commas Food Hall, a new 13,000-square-foot culinary destination on the third level of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Rd) in Downtown Silver Spring, is set to open later this spring or in the early summer. Among its diverse offerings is Claude Have Mercy, a restaurant celebrated for putting a unique seafood twist on beloved dishes.
Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

In the past we’ve shared information regarding various scams in local Facebook groups, including mobile car detailing and duct cleaning scams, imposter tattoo artist, and event ticket scams. Local Facebook group administrators have recently reported two scams: nostalgic shirts and fabricated stories behind a young entrepreneur’s new business venture.
