MCPS has shared that three supporting services employees have been named finalists for the 2025 Supporting Services Employee of the Year. This year’s annual awards, given by SEIU Local 500 and MCPS, are recognizing Esquibel (Celi) Andino, bus operator, Randolph Transportation Depot; Josephine (Josie) Marinucci, school secretary I, Westover Elementary School and John Sparrow, paraeducator, Poolesville High School. The winner will be announced at a celebration in May.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) arrested 37-year-old Joshua Tyrell Mundy for shoplifting and resisting arrest during a retail theft operation in downtown Silver Spring. A Silver Spring man was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for his role in an armed robbery at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C., after pleading guilty to brandishing a firearm during the crime. Law enforcement later arrested him at his residence, where they recovered multiple firearms, ammunition, and marijuana intended for distribution. (more…)
