Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the scene of a crash involving a mini van and school bus on Snouffer School Rd. in Gaithersburg Monday morning.
This week will start off pretty warm with temperatures approaching 60° on Monday and in the low to mid 50s on Tuesday. The wintry mix we mentioned over the weekend is still a possibility as temperatures quickly cool down Wednesday. There are also signals for potential snow next week, but we’ll get to that if it still looks like a threat later this week.

Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike enclosed permanently last October. The dual concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe. At the time a new business was promised and now we know that it will be Cuppa Tea.

When I moved back to Northern Virginia after several years in New York, most of my old friends had moved away. I found myself rebuilding a social circle from scratch.
I had plenty of people I could connect with online, but that wasn’t translating into anyone to grab a beer with after work, play trivia with, or text when I wanted to get out of the house. Making new friends as an adult required far more deliberate effort than I remembered.

This is not a race. Scooters, wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and every pace are welcome, and no one finishes last.
Three individuals were convicted in Baltimore City for illegally disposing of hazardous materials, following an investigation by the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, Baltimore City Fire Department, and Maryland Department of the Environment, with sentencing scheduled for March and April 2025. Rockville is celebrating Black History Month in February with the theme “African Americans and Labor”, featuring a new podcast “Conversations in Black”, social media highlights of Black city leaders, and a Rockville 11 video showcasing a new mural at Lincoln Park Community Center, created with community input and funded by a $30,000 Maryland State Arts Council grant.
Several employees reached out to let us know that Safeway will be closing its 1800 Rockville Pike store located on the ground level of the Galvan at Twinbrook complex. On Sunday morning, a store manager confirmed that the store was recently informed of its impending closure.
