If you were a wrestling fan growing up in Montgomery County in the 80’s and 90’s, Inside the Squared Circle was a program you may have made it a habit to catch each week. Back before the internet, ITSC was the only place you could hear insider and backstage information about professional wrestling. Now, two of the shows stars will battle it out in a professional wrestling match of their own.
With more than 70,000 residents located in the heart of Montgomery County, the city of Gaithersburg is one of the largest cities in Maryland. The city occupies approximately 10 square miles in the geographic center of Montgomery County and its southeastern border lies just 13 miles from the northwestern border of Washington, DC, according to the city website. HONORING THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
Newly announced, the festival will open on Friday evening, September 11, with a special tribute honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. All three bands performing that evening include veterans and active-duty military members.
Be sure to visit Old Fireman’s BBQ Food Truck and meet a firefighter who was on-site at the Pentagon on that fateful day. We are offering special pricing for first responders and military.

Mama Duck, the world’s largest rubber duck, is coming to the Chesapeake Bay! This enormous, family-favorite attraction has appeared around the world, and now she is making her Maryland Seafood Festival debut.

EXPERIENCE SKIPJACK HERITAGE DAYS
Taking place alongside the Maryland Seafood Festival, Skipjack Heritage Days invites families to discover the stories and traditions of the Chesapeake Bay through hands-on activities, educational exhibits and public sails aboard historic skipjacks.
The weekend culminates with a Sunday skipjack race that guests can watch from the festival grounds at East Beach. Skipjacks are living history and icons of our region—this is a rare opportunity to experience them up close.

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with America’s first president! Presented by Peraton, George Washington will share stories about his life, his experiences along the Chesapeake Bay, and his role in the founding of our country.

Maryland’s own Jimmy Charles returns to headline the festival on Sunday! Known as “Mr. Maryland,” the nationally recognized singer and songwriter will take the stage alongside a full weekend of bands, performers and entertainment.

According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, police, health inspectors, and permitting officials conducted a crackdown on unlicensed street food vendors in downtown Silver Spring on Saturday night, citing violations such as lack of proper licensing, unsanitary conditions, and unsafe food handling practices. On August 22, the New Neighbor Interfaith Alliance (NNIA) will host the 2026 Set Them Up for Success Volleyball Tournament and Family Fun Day from 9 am-4 pm at the Interdenominational Church of God in Gaithersburg, gathering volleyball teams, faith community members, and the public to raise funds to help recent refugees in Montgomery County attain independence.
An interfaith non-profit alliance of 37 faith communities and civic groups, NNIA raises funds to help resettled refugees with rental assistance, deferred medical care, English language skills and job placement. They also hope to expand their volunteer numbers to help more beneficiaries with job assistance, reliable transportation, and mentoring.
Comedian Martin Amini was just hitting his stride in Los Angeles when the pandemic hit in March of 2020 and forced him to leave his dreams behind in Los Angeles and move back in with his family in Montgomery County where he grew up.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and federal fire units responded to a building fire at the US Navy NSWC Carderock facility (9500 MacArthur Blvd) in Bethesda on Sunday, November 17.
For America Recycles Day, Montgomery County’s Department of Environmental Protection is urging residents to recycle batteries safely to prevent fire hazards, advising against placing them in curbside bins and recommending drop-off at designated facilities like the Shady Grove Transfer Station. Sir Walter Raleigh Inn is fondly remembered as an affordable steakhouse known for its extensive salad bar, making it a popular spot for homecoming dinners and birthday celebrations. Aug. 25, 2024 was a lucky day for Carlos Gamez, a Washington, D.C. resident who enjoys playing the Lottery in his home territory as well as in neighboring Maryland and Virginia. On that day, he won more than $50,000 playing a DC Lottery game. Two and a half months after winning that prize, he won $25,000 in Montgomery County.
