Birds: You don’t have to be a bird expert to help with this community science project at Locust Grove Nature Center. So, join staff at FeederWatch Friday(opens in a new tab) on Friday, February 10, 11 am, to help count birds and bird species at feeders around the facility.
Ice Skating: Bring your special someone to Wheaton Ice Arena’s Sweetheart Skate on Friday, February 10, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm or 8:30 pm to 10 pm. Eight dollars covers two admissions and two skate rentals.
Gardens: Stay in the comfort of your home and join Brookside Gardens’ virtual Everything You Wanted to Know about Pruning(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, February 12, at 10 am. Learn proper pruning techniques from Horticulturalist Josh Demers. Brookside Gardens also hosts the in-person We Speak Weddings Workshop(opens in a new tab) on Saturday, February 11, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. So, drop in and discover the beauty of the gardens for your nuptials or other special event.
Volunteering: Weed Warriors teams need your help to rid parks and trees of invasive and nonnative plants. You can pitch in and volunteer at one of three weekend Weed Warrior events on Saturday, February 11: Reddy Branch Stream Valley Park(opens in a new tab) at 9 am; Maydale Conservation Park(opens in a new tab) at 10 am; and Elmhirst Parkway Neighborhood Conservation Area(opens in a new tab) at 10 am.

The dates in this article are so jacked up (Friday the 11th?) that I have no idea when things are happening.
It seems they (Montgomery Parks) have the incorrect dates listed, but if you just click on any event you’ll see the correct date.
