Updates on Six New Places Coming to the Kentlands Neighborhood

Many have been (somewhat) patiently awaiting the arrival of a few spots that might be taking a little longer than expected. For anyone worried, we were told that these locations are all still coming, but that things have progressed a bit slower than anticipated.

The construction on the restaurants coming to the paseo hasnt made much progress in the last few months. The paseo is the walkway that can be found next to MOD Pizza (where Chopt is going) on one side and Berries & Bowls on the other.

A quick peek through the cracks will show fairly bare interiors that still need a lot of work. We’re told not to worry and that every restaurant is still coming. No specific dates were given, but everything has now pushed well into 2021.

Here’s a little more on each place.

Brio’s Chicken: A Peruvian chicken restaurant that had a location in Aspen Hill in the Aspen Manor shopping center, where Outback is located (now under new ownership), is coming into the Paseo across from where RanKen Noodle House.

Burton’s Grill and Bar: An east coast chain that is applauded for its allergy-friendly menu, will be taking a large spot in the paseo, facing Buca di Beppo and Orangetheory.

Chopt: This location was announced a little bit before the closing of the Downtown Crown location, just two miles away. It has been one of the most asked questions, but it still appears to be months away.

Goldfish Swim School: Located next to Michael’s, they are making progress! In a recent post on their social media, they share that they’re working hard to ensure their safe, heated, 90° pool will be ready to enjoy this winter.

RanKen Noodle House: A menu has been placed on the window, but there is plenty of construction left to go. Their Facebook page is up, and you can tell the owner is very excited to open based on a series of updates posted on September 13th.

Starbucks: The new Starbucks that has been constructed at the end of the Lowe’s parking lot is almost ready to go. We’ve been told the current Kentlands Starbucks will close once this opens and have heard that a local coffee shop may take its place.
