The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested and charged 37-year-old Mackenzie Rose Colgan with first-degree murder in the drowning death of her 3-month-old daughter on December 8, 2024 in Chevy Chase.
Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-month-old infant in the 7300 block of Summit Ave of Chevy Chase, initially reported as a drowning, with the mother taken into custody and an autopsy pending to determine the cause and manner of death.
Elena James, located at 8551 Connecticut Ave in the Chevy Chase Lake neighborhood, is set to open on Friday, December 6. Created by Colin McClimans and Danilo Simic, the founders of D.C.’s New American restaurant Nina May, Elena James is a new all-day concept featuring seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Montgomery County Police Department have announced the arrest of a Washington, D.C. man for a series of thefts at the Brooks Brothers store in Chevy Chase, where he stole merchandise from February 2023 to August 2024. According to 2D Commander Amy Daum, the total loss over time was more than $53,000.
