Comedian Mark Curry is coming to town with two shows at Bethesda Theater this Sunday, December 15th. Perhaps best known as the star of the ABC sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” and as one of the various hosts of the syndicated series “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”, Curry became a household name in the 90s. The shows will be at 6pm (dinner & doors at 4pm) and 9:30pm (dinner & doors at 8:30pm), with tickets available here.

BT’s Bethesda, a new restaurant and bar owned by Brian “BT” Lacey, will open on Friday, December 13, at 4866 Cordell Ave., in the space formerly occupied by Zuma by Chef Ninja. Initially, the restaurant will be open for dinner only during its first week, with plans to introduce brunch and lunch service in the coming week. (more…)


Former Washington Nationals player Juan Soto has agreed to a contract with the New York Mets that will pay him $765 million over the next 15 years. If you break down the deal that’s believed to be the largest in team sports history, it’s $51 million per year, $4.25 million per month, $980,769K per week, $139,726 per day, $5,821 per hour, and $97 per minute for the next fifteen years. Five years ago, Soto made a surprise visit to a school bus stop and took pictures with students of North Bethesda Middle School.

Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-month-old infant in the 7300 block of Summit Ave of Chevy Chase, initially reported as a drowning, with the mother taken into custody and an autopsy pending to determine the cause and manner of death.
