“Frederick has always been a baseball town”, and a recent announcement has reignited that passion. In a move that marks a triumphant return to its roots, the Frederick Keys will once again be an affiliated Minor League Baseball team, serving as the High-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles starting in the 2026 season.

Maryland’s all-you-can-eat pizza landscape has seen its final Cici’s slice disappear with the recent closure of the Frederick location at 5010 Buckeystown Pike. This marks the complete departure of the popular pizza buffet chain, according to the Cici’s Pizza website. The Frederick location’s phone number is no longer in service, and the restaurant is marked as closed on Google and Yelp. Additionally, it has been removed from the corporate website.

Yelp has released its list of the top 50 Fried Chicken spots in the U.S. and Canada, according to Yelp Elites. One Maryland restaurant, Ekiben, made it onto the list– coming in ranked 4th in all of the U.S. and Canada. Ekiben was co-founder by a graduate of Quince Orchard High School.

On July 15, 2025, a Frederick County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a Baltimore man during a traffic stop on Route 340 after a K9 unit detected narcotics and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 385 grams of suspected cocaine.
