Forbes has released its annual “World’s Billionaires List” and ten Marylanders (including many from Montgomery County) have made the list. According to Forbes, “there are now more billionaires than ever: 2,781 in all, 141 more than last year and 26 more than the record set in 2021. They’re richer than ever, worth $14.2 trillion in aggregate, up by $2 trillion from 2023 and $1.1 trillion above the previous record, also set in 2021. Two-thirds of the list’s members are worth more than a year ago; only one fourth are poorer.” Below are the ten Maryland billionaires who made the list:

A new text messaging program announced today by the Montgomery County, MD-based American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA, headquartered at 2200 Research Blvd in Rockville), Bright by Text, and the Helping Adults Talk to Children (HATCH) Lab at Idaho State University will put trusted information into the hands of families with children who have–or may have–hearing loss.

LeighAnn Sidone, D.N.P., RN, C.E.N.P., has been named president and chief operating officer of Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a not-for-profit, acute-care, medical-surgical hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Sidone has served in the role of interim president since February 2024 while maintaining her position as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer for Suburban Hospital. She also holds the position of associate chief nurse executive for practice for Johns Hopkins Health System. Dr. Sidone previously served as interim president for Suburban Hospital from September 2020 to April 2021.

Flats 8300, at 8300 Wisconsin Ave, has sold for $129.8 million to Denver-based AIR Communities, according to a BisNow report. According to the report, the property was initially sold to the seller, Invesco Real Estate, for $207 million in 2016.
