The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating a shooting in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Milestone Drive in White Oak.
According to a social media post by police at 10:14pm, “no injuries have been reported. One vehicle was struck by a bullet. The scene is secured.” We will provide an update if additional information is made available.
Detectives from the Fairfax County Police Major Crimes Bureau charged a 14-year-old juvenile from Maryland in connection with a carjacking in Tysons Corner Center yesterday evening.
Per Fairfax County Police: “At 6:23 p.m., detectives from our Tysons Urban Team responded to a parking garage in the 7900 block of Tysons Corner Center in McLean for a carjacking. Two juvenile suspects approached the victim, an adult man, who was sitting in his car, and knocked on his window. When the victim exited his car, the juveniles threatened to throw “acid” on the victim. One of the juvenile suspects entered the victim’s car while the other suspect threw green liquid, which was later determined to be liquid sour candy, on the victim. The suspects fled the area in the victim’s BMW X5.
According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “This week, in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Michael McAuliffe sentenced defendant, Terry Tompkins, 42, of Temple Hills, to 15 years in prison suspend all but four years to serve and five years of probation upon release. Tompkins pleaded guilty on December 19th, 2022, to one count of robbery and three counts of theft stemming from four incidents at hardware stores in June and July of 2022. The sentencing hearing was held on Wednesday, October 10th.
In one of the incidents, on July 30th, 2022, Tompkins exited the Ace Hardware store in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring, with a cart full of copper wire and other electric cable products without paying for the items. He then attacked a store employee who attempted to film him on a cell phone. Tomkins stole the phone as he fled.
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting in the unincorporated section of Takoma Park. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Jerome Clarke of Silver Spring. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
According to PGCPD: On October 8, 2023, at approximately 8:20 pm, officers responded to the 6800 block of Red Top Road for the report of the sound of gunshots. Clarke was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s). Per the Maryland State Police: Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday evening on the campus of Bowie State University. At about 11:30 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack, who were assisting Bowie State University with security during Homecoming weekend, responded to the school’s Center for Business and Graduate Studies for a report of a shooting. According to a preliminary investigation, two male victims, both 19, were located in front of the Center for Business and Graduate Studies and were transported by ambulance by the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. There is no indication that either victims were students of Bowie State. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division are leading the investigation with assistance provided by troopers from the College Park Barrack and the Bowie State Police Department. Prince George’s County Police also assisted at the scene. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Bowie State Police tips line at 301-860-4688. The case remains under investigation.

To determine where Americans can feel most protected against life’s hazards, including nonphysical forms of danger, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 41 key metrics (WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across three key dimensions: 1) Home & Community Safety, 2) Natural-Disaster Risk, and 3) Financial Safety). The data set ranges from traffic fatalities per capita and assaults per capita to the unemployment rate and the percentage of the population that is uninsured.
Update: This incident is now being investigated as a domestic related homicide.
4th District Montgomery County Police officers responded to the 4500 block of Mt. Olney Lane shortly before 8:30 for a shooting. The suspect is in custody and officers are still on scene. This story is developing and we will update with additional information as soon as it’s available.
The U.S. Marshals Service will hold an auction for the multimillion dollar car collection of the imprisoned YouTube star Bill Omar Carrasquillo on October 13th in Baltimore, MD. The live auction will include over 55 cars, motorcycles, ATV, and other vehicles seized from Carrasquillo, also known as “Omi In A Hellcat”. The collection includes exotic cars like Lamborghinis and Bentleys, Jeeps and other SUVs. The auction will be held at the historic B&O Railroad Museum on October 13th, with a preview day on Thursday, October 12th starting at 11 am EST. Also available in a separate online sale is a collection of jewelry seized from Carrasquillo along with other items from other cases.
Earlier this year, Carrasquillo was sentenced to 5 ½ years in prison for crimes arising from a wide-ranging criminal scheme that involved piracy of cable TV, access device fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and hundreds of thousands of dollars of copyright infringement. In addition to his prison sentence, Carrasquillo is subject to a $30 million forfeiture money judgment and must pay $15 million in restitution.The event is open to the public. The U.S. Marshals in Connecticut, along with Middleton and New Haven police, arrested today a man wanted out of Silver Spring, Maryland, for assault and other charges. Oliver Agyopong, 21, was wanted on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, assault first-degree, assault second-degree, use of a firearm in a violent crime, and theft.
Per U.S. Marshals Service: “Since March, Montgomery County detectives have been investigating several armed robberies in the Silver Spring area of Maryland. Agyapong and two co-defendants were identified as suspects in some of the robberies, and a warrant was issued for their arrest. Oliver was the last suspect arrested in the trio.
Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a residential burglary that occurred in the 3900 block of Wendy Lane in Aspen Hill, on Sunday, September 3, 2023. Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
The investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 11:54 p.m., the suspect forced entry into the residence, stole property and left the residence. Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of a camera inside the home and obtained a description of the suspect. The suspect is described as a 50-year-old male, with short hair, approximately 5-feet, 7-inches tall and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing glasses, a dark shot sleeve collared shirt and blue jeans.
On October 5, 2023, at approximately 1:00 pm, Takoma Park Police responded to the 1300 block of Holton Lane (El Alazan Western Wear), for the report of an armed robbery and assault that had just occurred.
According to Takoma Park Police, “The suspect entered the establishment under the pretense of being interested in purchasing merchandise. However, for unknown reasons, the suspect’s demeanor turned hostile and he brandished a silver handgun. One of the store’s owners attempted to call 911. In response, the suspect aggressively charged at her in an attempt to take her phone. During the struggle, the suspect forcibly dragged the owner out of the establishment causing her to fall to the ground outside. The suspect fled on foot towards the rear of “La Union” Mall located in the 1400 block of University Blvd east.
