Overnight Saturday, Montgomery County Police 5th District (Germantown) officers responded to reports of a subject breaking into vehicles.
Nicholas John Roske, 29, of Simi Valley, California, was sentenced today to 97 months in federal prison to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release for attempting to kill a United States Supreme Court Justice in Montgomery County, MD. The Department of Justice advocated for a sentence of at least 30 years to life.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) 4th District officers responded around 1:25 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired near Grand Pre Road and Connecticut Avenue in Aspen Hill. (more…)

U.S. District Judge Richard D. Bennett sentenced Harold Dotson, 54, of Gaithersburg, to three years in federal prison and ordered him to pay nearly $24.8 million in restitution for his role in a wire fraud conspiracy involving over $24 million in fraudulent CARES Act loan applications.

A Pennsylvania man pleaded guilty to participating in a felony theft scheme that defrauded construction workers of wages on University of Maryland projects, collecting over $63,000 through falsified payroll records.
