On August 11, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies of the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, assigned to the 4H Fair in Centreville, MD, were alerted to an attempted kidnapping. The Sheriff’s Office and QAC Fair Board emergency response plan was immediately activated, and deputies quickly saturated the area.
MCPD is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night in Fairland in which a teenage male was shot in the thigh while walking on a footpath, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Luis Davila-Marerro, 42, was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court to 35 years in prison for kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery following a 2024 incident involving a taxi driver and her son, with the sentence to run consecutively to a prior 10-year term for burglary and probation violations. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 19700 block of Preservation Mews in Montgomery Village. The incident involved gunfire that struck a townhome, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
