Monumental Sports & Entertainment has unveiled plans for The Halo, a new multi-level hospitality experience designed to transform how fans experience events inside Capital One Arena.

Scheduled to debut ahead of the 2027–28 season, The Halo will accommodate nearly 4,500 guests and feature a wide range of seating, clubs, and social spaces geared toward season ticket holders, suite owners, small groups, and select ticket tiers. The space is being designed to transition seamlessly between NHL and NBA games, concerts, and family events.

It was a record-breaking night in downtown Washington DC as the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) brought its Takeover Tour to Capital One Arena. The matchup featured the New York Sirens and the Montréal Victoire, marking a major milestone for the league, which launched its inaugural season in January 2024 and now includes eight teams across the United States and Canada.


Washington Spirit goalkeeper Lyza Jessee has retired from the NWSL after three professional seasons in DC, she announced today. “I want to sincerely thank the club and fans for their support throughout my career,” said Jessee. “I am so grateful for my time with the Spirit, DC will always feel like home.”
