Washingtonian Magazine has released its “29 Best New Restaurants in the DC Area” list, stating “There’s never a dull moment in Washington’s food scene, but the past year has been especially exciting.” Just two Maryland restaurants, both in Montgomery County, have made the list:
The Washington Commanders have released their initial 53-man roster, which is subject to change as the team could sign free agents released by other teams and release additional players. In a statement to the public, shared by Ben Standig on X, the Washington Commanders have made the decision to remove the Sean Taylor installation that they unveiled in November 2022. It was widely regarded as a disappointing tribute to the late player since its introduction and the team will work on a replacement plan that will “rightfully celebrate the legacy and impact that Sean had on our organization, fanbase and community.” Full statement by the team and Jackie Taylor, Sean Taylor’s daughter, below:
Back in May we let you know that Ruta Ukrainian Restaurant was coming to 4862 Cordell Ave in Bethesda, the former site of Momo Chicken. The restaurant announced via social media that it’s now open for lunch and dinner.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced that 26-year-old Adela Beatriz Orellana, of Hyattsville, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of theft for stealing the contents of UPS packages she accepted, while employed at UPS and selling the stolen contents at local pawn shops.
