In July we let you know that Beauty 4U signed on to take over the space that was the longtime home of Walgreens at 11215 New Hampshire Ave. in White Oak until closing the store permanently in February. The store officially opened this past week.
Dave’s Hot Chicken, the hot chicken restaurant chain based in California, will be opening first location in Montgomery County at the upcoming White Oak Town Center (12345 Columbia Pike). The chain has set an opening date of Friday, November 15th. Initially reported as Maryland’s second location, but it is the state’s fourth.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced the arrest of a Silver Spring man in connection with two home invasions and assaults on elderly women, and he now faces multiple charges, including attempted rape and theft, after detectives linked him to both incidents with forensic evidence.
First Watch is now open at 12255 Prosperity Dr. in the new White Oak Town Center development. The restaurant is located in a corner space with a large outdoor patio, across from the future grocery store anchor that remains to be determined (but appears to be Amazon Fresh again). For the grand opening, First Watch is offering customers who dine Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 1 a free cup of coffee with their meal.
District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos announced on Friday morning that shoppers in Burtonsville intervened to detain a suspect who attempted to rob a Giant Foods pharmacy, holding him until police arrived, leading to his arrest and being charged with felony robbery.
