Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has shared an updated announcement stating that 19 of 25 district high schools have been recognized on the prestigious 2023 AP School Honor Roll. The previous announcement from MCPS mistakenly did not include Wootton High School. (more…)
A new MCPS initiative, Community of Practice (CoP) Workgroup on Promotions and Appointments, District Climate, and Employee Supports, dedicated to rectifying issues related to harassment, sexual harassment, and workplace bullying, will be meeting between starting mid-November 2023 (this month) and Mid-February 2024.

Earlier this year, global beauty brand L’Oréal Paris USA announced its 2023 L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth, recognizing the charitable achievements of ten extraordinary non-profit leaders working to address the nation’s biggest issues. Included in the ten is MoCo high school student Shrusti Amula.
Marco Fuggitti, athletic specialist at Northwood High School, and the school’s athletic department staff, have been recognized by the National Federation of State High School Associations for achieving Level 3 status in the NFHS School Honor Roll Program.
The Network Operations program of the Montgomery County Students Information Technology Foundation, Inc. (ITF) held its annual computer lab gifting ceremony today (Nov. 16) at Thomas Edison High School of Technology.
The first car and computer sale being held by students in the Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) and Information Technology Foundation (ITF) will take place next month.
The program will sell used cars and computers that they have refurbished from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Gaithersburg High School. The school is located at 101 Education Blvd. in Gaithersburg. The sale will be held in the auto bays (school entrance near Summit Avenue).
Earlier this month, Seneca Valley High School principal Marc Cohen shared that he will be retiring from MCPS after 30 years in education, effective November 30th, 2023. In a letter shared with the Seneca Valley Community, he stated that he will be “continuing his professional journey supporting school leaders across the county as an Instruction and Leadership Coach.”
