Downtown Silver Spring is hosting its 3rd Annual Chalk Fest on Saturday, May 10th from 10am until 4pm– a community celebration of local art and the refreshed 350-foot street mural, Sweet Network, by CHALK R!OT. The event, centered along Ellsworth Drive, features chalk art creations by local artists and groups displayed right on the pavement.

Lisa Mary Ryder will be taking on the role starting May 27th. She will be taking over for the recently retired Alice Nappy, who was with VisArts for 15 years. Heller An Shapiro, who previously led a board development project for VisArts, is guiding programming until Ryder starts her new role.
