Visit Frederick has announced that Sailing Through the Winter Solstice will set sail once again in Carroll Creek Park beginning Saturday, November 22, bringing months of floating light displays to the heart of the city (video below).

Zayre, a once-popular discount department store chain that operated along the East Coast from 1956 until 1990, holds a unique place in Montgomery County’s retail history. Though long gone, two former MoCo locations help tell the story of a brand that eventually helped give rise to today’s TJX Companies, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.

Seaside Deli, known for its stacked subs, quick wit online, and beach-town charm, announced this past week that it has closed for the season and will reopen in March 2026.

It’s been a banner start to the NFL season for the New England Patriots, who improved to 8-2 on Sunday with a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, tying the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos for the league’s best record. A caller all the way from Minnesota told the hosts of the Green Light with Chris Long podcast that he’s figured out a foolproof (if wildly illegal) strategy for stopping the Washington Commanders: just “cheat” on every first down.
