Local resident Ron Diehl, who runs the @ghs_sports_snaps account on instagram, highlighting athletics for Gaithersburg High School, wanted to give the kids something cool they can enjoy over the summer– so he used the Team Builder feature in the new NCAA 25 video game to create local high school (and college) teams that are downloadable in the game.

Hootie and the Blowfish will be returning to the area with two local concerts in August. The first will be in Columbia, MD at Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 3rd followed by a show in Bristow, VA at Jiffy Lube Live on August 17th. This is somewhat of a homecoming as half of the band, Mark Bryan and Dean Felber, are graduates of Seneca Valley High School in Germantown.

Actor Michael Ealy has recently made a splash in his recurring role on ‘Power Book II: Ghost’– the second  series that’s part of STARZ’ Power Universe. Michael Ealy, then known as Michael Brown, was born in D.C. and raised in Montgomery County where he grew up in Silver Spring and graduated from Springbrook High School (later attending the University of Maryland).

In the spirit of the Olympic Games, we (The MoCoShow) have partnered with Rio and Sportrock Climbing Centers to host the first-ever Rio Games, scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 28th from 9am-1pm with 100% of proceeds from the events taking place at Sportrock going to the Special Olympics.

Water Country USA, touted as the Mid-Atlantic’s largest outdoor water park (and the largest water park in Virginia), is located in York County, Virginia, near Williamsburg (176 Water Country Pkwy.). The water park offers live entertainment, shops and restaurants, water rides, and other family attractions. The park turns 40 years old this summer and is a popular destination for many nearby, as it’s approximately 150 miles south of D.C. and about 2.5 hours away.
