With more than 70,000 residents located in the heart of Montgomery County, the city of Gaithersburg is one of the largest cities in Maryland. The city occupies approximately 10 square miles in the geographic center of Montgomery County and its southeastern border lies just 13 miles from the northwestern border of Washington, DC, according to the city website. Now, Gaithersburg is working on ideas for a new City Flag.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced that it’s Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) aided in the arrest of two robbery suspects at the transit center in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg by reviewing surveillance footage that identified the suspects, who were later charged with robbery and assault. The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), which was founded by Montgomery Village natives Paul and Mike Rabil, has launched the Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL)– a new professional women’s lacrosse property set to debut at the 2025 PLL Championship Series, featuring the best lacrosse players in the world.
