A teacher and musician, Ms. Brown is at the center of a multi-generational musical family. Her mother was a concert violinist, and her father, Ray Brown, was a jazz trumpet player with Stan Kenton. Her husband, Daniel Levitov, is a cellist, and with their twin daughters, Arabella and Imogen, they perform as the Brown/Levitov Family Band, showcasing jazz arrangements by Ray Brown.

The Arts Barn Concert Series presents acclaimed artists from classical and jazz to folk, traditional, global music, and more, offering exceptional performances in an intimate, welcoming setting.


Gaithersburg’s next generation of business leaders will take center stage this weekend at the FOXES Children’s Business Fair (Fostering Opportunities for Xceptional Entrepreneurial Stars), happening Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

One of Gaithersburg’s most beloved Halloween traditions is back… and it’s bigger, spookier, and more meaningful than ever. The Spooktacular Halloween display known as Spider Manor has returned to the Kentlands at 237 Little Quarry Road, welcoming visitors every day throughout October. For decades, The Golden Bull in Gaithersburg (Montgomery County) and Adelphi (Prince George’s County) was one of the region’s best-known steakhouses, serving hearty portions of prime rib and steak in an old-school setting that became a favorite for celebrations and family dinners. Its locations were each recognized by the distinctive golden bull statue mounted atop the building… a true roadside landmark for anyone driving by (television commercial courtesy the now defunct www.golden-bull.com)

A new wellness destination is preparing to make its mark in downtown Bethesda. The Stretch Loft, founded by Gaithersburg High School alum Ben “The Baptist” Atanga, is opening soon at 4853 Cordell Avenue on the penthouse level, promising a space that blends holistic healing, bodywork, and culture in a way unlike anything else in the area.

The Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland announced that the City of Gaithersburg was one of 18 Maryland municipalities honored at the Sustainable Maryland Awards Ceremony at the Maryland Municipal League’s annual Fall Conference. The Town was certified at the Silver level.

Sixty Vines, the Texas-based restaurant known for its wine-on-tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, has had a busy first week at its new Downtown Crown location in Gaithersburg. The restaurant officially opened on Monday, October 13, marking its first location in Maryland, and has seen heavy crowds every night since.
