A Gaithersburg man has been sentenced to life in prison, suspending all but 30 years to serve, followed by five years of supervised probation for his role in a fatal 2022 drive-by shooting and a separate 2022 assault, with a recommendation for admission to the Patuxent Youthful Offender program. Andy’s Pizza is opening a new location at 145 Commerce Square Place in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood, taking over the space formerly occupied by MOD Pizza, which closed in March 2024. A representative from Andy’s noted, “The opening is a long way off, so we do not even have a date at this time. Gaithersburg residents will cast their ballots for Mayor and two City Council Members on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. All Council Members serve at-large. The terms of office for Mayor Jud Ashman and Council Members Lisa Henderson and Jim McNulty expire in November. The Mayor and City Council Members elected in 2025 will each serve a four-year term.
