Earlier this month we reported that Goodwill has leased the space at 58 Market St. in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. We have received additional information regarding the space, which will be a Goodwill Donation Express.

Gaithersburg-based Novavax announced preliminary results from the SHIELD-Utah study, conducted with the University of Utah Health, showing that its protein-based COVID-19 vaccine targeting the JN.1 strain caused fewer and less severe reactogenicity symptoms and less disruption to daily activities compared to the Pfizer-BioNTech mRNA vaccine in healthcare workers and first responders. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Montgomery Village have seen an increasing problem with vehicles illegally parked on school properties overnight, according to the Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF).

A black bear was caught on camera strolling across a Darnestown driveway on Tuesday night, shortly after 8pm. The bear appeared to make its way towards the trash and recycling bin, which were securely closed, before wandering off. There were multiple sightings of the bear in the Darnestown area on Tuesday.
Sam’s Club, which has one Montgomery County location at 610 N Frederick Ave. in Gaithersburg, has announced that it will be opening 30 new locations across the country and will be remodeling all 600 of its existing clubs.
Häagen-Dazs is now open at 211 Market St W in Gaithersburg. The ice cream shop is located in the space previously occupied by Bel Pre Family Dental in Kentlands, though permanent signage is not up yet as of Tuesday evening.

As part of Green Month, the City of Gaithersburg recognizes individuals and organizations demonstrating outstanding environmental stewardship in the Gaithersburg community with Environmental Awards. Mayor Jud Ashman and members of the City Council presented the awards at a ceremony on Monday, April 7, 2025. A proclamation designating April as Gaithersburg Green Month and April 25 as Arbor Day in the City of Gaithersburg was presented during the Mayor and City Council meeting following the awards ceremony.
