In May we let you know of a Schematic Development Plan (SDP) by Peterson Cos. to develop parts of Rio Lakefront with up to 500 multi-family residential units apartment units and 43,000 SF of retail uses in four buildings located throughout the Washingtonian Center. The City of Gaithersburg has provided an update that consists of several exhibits of public comments made by community members on the proposal (links to comments available below).
A new era for North Carolina football has officially begun, and a local talent from right here in Montgomery County, Maryland is at the heart of the action. True freshman Eidan Buchanan, a 6’9″, 330-pound offensive lineman from Montgomery Village, made his first career start for the Tar Heels in tonight’s highly anticipated season opener against TCU.
The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that 39-year-old Luis Antonio Quintanilla, wanted for the fatal shooting of his partner, 35-year-old Maritza Ferman Sorto, in Gaithersburg on August 31, was arrested in Irving, Texas, and is awaiting extradition to Maryland. (more…)
