According to Maryland Lottery and Gaming, Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $151,795,660 in revenue from slot machines and table games during January 2025, a decrease of $1,447,656 (-0.9%) compared to January 2024. Casino gaming contributions to the state during January 2025 totaled $63,651,034, an increase of $496,642 (0.8%) compared to January 2024. A coalition of 20 state attorneys general, including Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown, has urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to require Kash Patel, President Trump’s nominee for FBI Director, to answer further questions regarding reports of politically motivated firings at the FBI. The letter raises concerns about the potential dismissal of FBI officials involved in investigating the January 6th Capitol riots and calls for greater transparency before Patel’s confirmation vote.
