Brown has announced that former dentist Seyed Hamid Tofigh, who previously defrauded the Medicaid program and practiced dentistry without a license, was sentenced to 18 months in jail for violating his probation by attempting to return to dentistry using a fake license and leaving home detention without approval. Federal Realty has announced that Rockville’s Bao Bei will open at Montrose Crossing in Rockville. What began as a “ghost kitchen” (a restaurant without dining space and no visible storefront, where food is typically sold through third party delivery apps) in 2022, Bao Bei features a variety of Taiwanese street food dishes from baos to hearty bowls, side dishes and more. Chef Kevin Hsieh, a 2013 graduate of Gaithersburg High School, curates a dining experience that preserves tradition and offers authentic Taiwanese flavors.

The District 14 Delegation, comprising Delegate Bernice Mireku-North, Delegate Pam Queen, Delegate Anne Kaiser, and Senator Craig Zucker, hosted a school supply and backpack giveaway at Fairland Elementary School on August 22, 2024 and Greencastle Elementary School on August 23, 2024. More than 200 backpacks, pencils, and erasers were given out at each school.
