“Mild, Snowy” 2024-2025 Winter Forecast by The Old Farmer’s Almanac

The 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac is now available everywhere complete with its 2024-2025 winter weather forecast. Winter arrives this year on December 21, 2024 and sometimes brings shoveling, snow blowing, dealing with bad roads, and unbearable temperatures with it. Lately, we haven’t had too much snow to talk about in our area, and this winter, according to the almanac, is expected to be”mild and snowy” for our area (map available above) but differs based on specific location. Below, you’ll see forecasts for the Atlantic Corridor and the Appalachians, which covers all of our area.

Amber Alert Issued for 7-Year-Old Boy

UPDATE: Khalil has been safely located and is being reunited with his father. The investigation is ongoing and will be reviewed with the Harford County State’s Attorney to determine if any charges are appropriate. Thank you for your shares.

The Maryland State Police have issued an amber alert for a missing 7-year-old boy, Khalil Rodney Ringgold, last seen in a gray 2022 Nissan Altima in Churchville, MD. (more…)

$62,588 Starting Salary For Teachers Among Changes Associated With ‘Blueprint For Maryland’s Future’

In the October 11th Board of Education (BOE) update, the BOE stated that MCPS provided an update saying that the district is on track or doing better than expected with changes associated with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future– designed to make big improvements in education throughout the state.

Governor Moore Wes Announces Maryland Teams to Aid Southern States Impacted by Storms

On Thursday, Governor Moore announced that Maryland teams are contributing to response and recovery efforts across the southeastern U.S. following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, under mutual aid programs like the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, with Maryland National Guard soldiers, emergency personnel, and search and rescue teams deployed to assist in affected areas.

Zaxbys is Coming to Maryland

Southern fast-food favorite Zaxbys is set to debut in Maryland with three locations along the Eastern Shore, starting in Cambridge in late 2025, followed by Easton and West Ocean City/Berlin. Zaxbys menu features its signature fried chicken sandwiches, wings, chicken fingers (“Zaxby’s Zingers”), crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast.
