Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded late Monday morning to a high-rise fire at the Highland House apartments, located at 5480 Wisconsin Avenue in Friendship Heights. MCFRS initially reported heavy smoke on the 15th floor, confirming an active fire inside an apartment as crews worked to bring the blaze under control.

A section of NB MD-355 is currently shut down in Rockville following a crash near the intersection of 355 and Gude Drive, close to Watkins Pond Boulevard. The collision appears to involve a dump truck that overturned onto its side and another vehicle with significant front-end damage.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded Sunday to a fire at a two-story home built in 1897 along the 8900 block of Beallsville Road near Jerusalem Road at Muldoon Farm in Poolesville. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFR)  responded to a collision at Oakmont Avenue and Railroad Street in Gaithersburg on Friday evening where a train struck a single vehicle, prompting a large fire and rescue response.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, train traffic is stopped in both directions and several lanes, including portions of Oakmont Avenue and Route 355, are blocked while crews evaluate occupants and secured the scene.
