Montgomery County Council will meet on March 25 to continue reviewing the Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Budget and amendments to the Fiscal Year 2025-2030 Capital Improvements Program. Throughout history, there have been battles that seem to have no victor. For me, the ongoing struggle to be the “Most Fun Parent” (MFP) is a Herculean task. Recently, with my wife out of town for a few days, I saw this as my best opportunity to earn that MFP trophy. I decided to take my two daughters, Ellie and Natalie, on a culinary adventure to various fun restaurants across Montgomery County.

Residents in the area have seen Pepco bills increase, and the company is offering energy-saving tips to help customers reduce costs ahead of the summer, including thermostat adjustments, AC maintenance, and home insulation improvements. Pepco also provides a Quick Home Energy Check-up Program and extended energy assistance options through March 2025 to support bill management and service continuity.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is continuing its Sweep the Salt pilot program to remove excess road salt from streets near sensitive watershed areas, helping to prevent water contamination. MCDOT reported that the program collected nearly 50 tons of salt and debris following winter storms, and based on initial results, plans to continue the initiative next year.
