On Monday, County Executive Marc Elrich addressed court developments that forced the federal government to use 5 billion dollars in contingency funds to cover half of November’s SNAP benefits, while Maryland Governor Wes Moore committed to funding the remaining portion. Elrich noted that SNAP payments will be delayed due to the federal administration’s actions and encouraged residents in need of immediate food assistance to access local food distribution resources.

For the first time in 19 years, the Kennedy Cavaliers can call themselves winners of a regular season. With a dominant 42-6 victory over Poolesville on Friday night, the Cavaliers capped off a resurgent campaign at 5-4, their first winning record since 2006.

Teams from 25 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) high schools took the floor for the 37th Annual Cheerleading Competition on October 25 at Montgomery Blair High School. Squads were evaluated on the level of difficulty, technique, and execution of their routines, performances that featured everything from synchronized choreography to high-flying stunts and crowd-pumping spirit.
