In the latest “Expected Snowfall” maps from the National Weather Service (NWS), a big portion of the area is now under the 5-8 inch range (upper portions of Montgomery, Loudoun, and Howard counties, and all of Frederick county).

The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its latest maps with 4-5 inches of snow for most areas, including most of Montgomery County, Howard County, Loudoun County, and Frederick County.
“How much are they saying we’re gonna get?” All four major networks have released their latest snowfall maps this morning. We’re gonna take a look at each of them and see who gets it right.
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) from Friday evening at 7pm until Saturday morning at 7am for portions of central, northern, and western Maryland, northern and northwestern Virginia, and eastern West Virginia. This includes upper Montgomery County.

The National Weather Service (NWS) released a “Special Weather Statement” earlier today regarding the storm headed our way late Friday into Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has already issued a Winter Storm Watch for the mountains and we suspect a Winter Weather Advisory or even a Winter Storm Warning if things continue to trend upwards in the area.
Following the Wednesday model runs, we seem to be in pretty much the same place when it comes to the upcoming storm headed our way Friday night into Saturday morning. According to our featured image by the National Weather Service (NWS), there’s more than a 60% chance for most of the area to see at least 1 inch of snow.
