The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its maps for another storm that is headed our way later this week. This one is coming after work/school on Friday and into Saturday morning, so it doesn’t look like there will be any impacts on schools Friday.
All MCPS schools will open two hours late-Office open on-time; all operations, including bus transportation, are delayed by two hours from the regular schedule.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 3am Tuesday morning until 1pm Tuesday afternoon for upper Montgomery County. The Winter Storm Watch is now an Advisory for much of upper Maryland, including Frederick County.
The storm the two major models were in disagreement about a couple days ago is now looking a little clearer. As usual with our area, the rain looks like it will win out as it moves into the area on Monday and heads out on Tuesday…but there’s still a shot at some light, wet snow before the storm leaves.
While both the GFS (American) and the Euro (European) models agree on a storm headed our way in the 24-48 hours before Valentine’s Day, they are currently offering two different solutions for the area.
