Maryland-National Capital Park Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault that occurred on November 1, 2025, along the Northwest Branch Trail in Silver Spring. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 18 and 22 years old with a slim build, wearing dark clothing, a black beanie, and black-framed glasses. (more…)


Montgomery Parks has begun a major renovation of the South Germantown Adventure Playground, which officially began construction on December 1, 2025, according to the Montgomery Parks website. The extensive project will modernize and reimagine one of Montgomery County’s most popular family destinations, with a scheduled reopening in summer 2026.

Multiple coyote sightings have been reported to us in recent days across several parts of Montgomery County, including Burtonsville, Clarksburg, and Poolesville. While coyotes have long been present in the region, the frequency of new reports suggests an uptick in activity as colder weather has arrived and food sources shift.

Construction Nears Completion at Greenbriar Local Park Following May 2024 Fire

Construction at Greenbriar Local Park in Potomac is now nearing completion, roughly a year and a half after a fire caused an estimated $1 million in damage and forced the closure of the park’s large playground. The rebuilt playground structure appears nearly finished, though the walkway leading to it remains fenced off as work continues.
