Krispy Kreme Donuts Will Soon Be Available at McDonald’s

“We know nothing hits the spot quite like a fresh, melt-in-your-mouth doughnut paired with your go-to McCafé order…and today, McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme have a sweet update for doughnut fans everywhere.” Krispy Kreme has recently announced that it will be providing fresh doughnuts daily at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide; Phased rollout will begin in 2H 2024 with nationwide availability expected by the end of 2026. Krispy Kreme has one standalone location in Montgomery County, in Rockville’s Fallsgrove Village Center. McDonald’s has dozens of locations across the county, with an estimated 284 locations across the state of Maryland.

Germantown Outback Was Part of 41 Closures Under Bloomin’ Brands

On Saturday we let you know that Outback Steakhouse closed its Germantown location after more than 30 years in business. The closure is part of parent company Bloomin’ Brands decision to close 41 restaurants across its portfolio that also includes nearby closures of Bonefish in Ashburn, VA and Carrabba’s in Reston, VA.

Part of Red Lobster’s Parent Company Group is “Pursuing Exit”

Thai Union Group PCL has an announced its intention to pursue an exit of its investment in Red Lobster. has two Montgomery County locations- Gaithersburg and Silver Spring. There is no current plan to close either restaurant.

WalletHub, the personal finance website, recently compared more than 500 of the largest cities in the U.S. and ranked them based on three key indicators of ethnic diversity, including ethnicity and race, language, and birthplace.

Dulles Becomes First Airport to Offer Global Entry Interviews Upon Departure

As of Monday, February 12th, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have started offering interviews to conditionally approved Global Entry applicants departing the United States from Washington Dulles International Airport.

MoCo Native Brian Fleury is Coaching in the Super Bowl

Brian Fleury, a 1997 state championship winning quarterback at Seneca Valley, is in his fifth season with the San Francisco 49ers and second season as the team’s tight end coach. This is the second time he will be going to the Super Bowl as a member of the 49ers staff (see our post from 2020 below).

Following his graduation from Seneca Valley, Fleury began his collegiate career at Maryland before transferring to Towson, where he played quarterback for four years (1999-2002) and earned a degree in sports management from the school in 2002. He and his wife, Natasha, have one daughter, Nadia.

Former President Donald Trump Qualifies For Maryland Republican Primary Ballot

Maryland Secretary of State Susan C. Lee wrote a letter to state election officials stating that former President Donald Trump will join Nikki Haley on the Republican primary ballot on May 14th for the 2024 Presidential election in the state of Maryland.
