Montgomery Parks and Westfield Montgomery Mall are partnering to honor Black History Month by offering free entry to the Josiah Henson Museum and Park, which is located on the former plantation of Isaac Riley where Reverend Josiah Henson was enslaved.
This past summer we reported that signage was up for No Regrets Pizza Co. at 5454 Nicholson Lane, on the lower level of the Harwood Flats apartment building in North Bethesda. We’re now told the restaurant is expected to open this April.

Last September we let you know that Texas-based Torchy’s Tacos is coming to 12266 Rockville Pike in Federal Plaza, taking over part of the space that was recently home to Chuy’s and previously home to Ruby Tuesday. Some progress has been made and Torchy’s hopes to open later this year.
Arby’s closed its last Montgomery County location at 11710 Rockville Pike in North Bethesda back in May of 2021. Now, Robert Dyer reports that McDonald’s will be its replacement.
The Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center (KSAC), located at 5900 Executive Blvd in Rockville, will close on June 28, 2024 for renovations.

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will make repairs to the MD 355 (Rockville Pike) bridge over the outer loop of I-495 (Capital Beltway) beginning on January 24 near Bethesda. The repairs should be complete by Friday, January 26, weather permitting.
