Duke’s Grocery, a London-inspired gastropub, has officially opened its first location outside of DC in Montgomery County’s Potomac Village. With the opening, Duke’s introduces Maryland to its signature “Proper Burger,” consistently ranked among the best burgers in DC and a multiple-time winner of “Best Burger in DC” competitions. Two Montgomery County based businesses– Saints Row Brewing and the La Casita family of restaurants– have joined forces to launch a truly locally inspired Latino beer. The new brew, named El Rancho, is a Central American-style lager featuring a blend of American and Neomexicanus hops. Described as bright, clean, and crisp with a hint of citrus, El Rancho is brewed exclusively at Saints Row Brewing in Olde Towne Gaithersburg.

Duke’s Grocery, a DC-based, East London-inspired gastropub, will open at 10128 River Road on Tuesday, April 8, at 6pm.
Commas Food Hall, a new 13,000-square-foot food destination on the third level of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Rd) in Downtown Silver Spring, is slated to open later this spring. One of its featured stalls is Tokoa Cheesesteaks, which local food reviewer “Big Schlim” has rated with his highest honor, “STAMP,” after several visits.
Goodwill has leased the space at 58 Market St. in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood. The space, located next to Lowe’s, was previously home to American Tae Kwon Do Academy.
Chick-fil-A’s experimental “Little Blue Menu” test kitchen, located at 7242 Baltimore Ave. in College Park, Maryland, will lay off 91 employees effective May 14 as part of a planned remodel, according to a Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the state on March 14.
